“Most likely to live his life through film.”

Those were the words written beneath my high school yearbook photo.

In fairness, I was super into video at the time.

I’d scripted, filmed and produced our end-of-year comedy sketch film (still my finest work to date).

I had my own hilariously-basic movie review website. I even studied Film at university, alongside English Lit.

And yet, one common theme spanned everything I did.

I loved being behind the camera. I hated being in front of it.

That was true for me as a kid, and it continued to be true for Adult David.

So, naturally, the idea of me having my own podcast seemed ridiculous.

Podcasts are amazing. I listen to them all the time. During work, in the car, at the gym. They’re pure escapism, or a great way to learn on the go.

But how could I, an introverted guy from Northern Ireland who talks way too fast for his own good, ever record a single podcast episode, never mind run an entire show?

I wouldn’t know where to start.

And even if I got there, who would listen?

Well, guess what? I did get there. And people did listen.

I launched my very first podcast in August 2024. Five months later, it’s currently sitting at over 30,000 downloads.
